In a university lab in St. Petersburg, a young student experimenting with saltwater became fascinated by its potential to yield metals. That curiosity evolved into a mission: to explore cleaner, smarter alternatives to traditional extraction. Years of passion, research, and innovation gave birth to Saltchemy.

Mr. Balalji With an impressive 23 years of extensive experience in supply chain and management, He have honed his skills across a diverse array of prestigious organizations and international settings. His professional journey includes significant roles in leading Indian multinational corporations such as LG Electronics and TCL India Holdings, as well as prominent conglomerates like Bechtel International, Descon Engineering Qatar, Holcim Group Qatar, and Al Futtaim Group Qatar.
He has managed and executed major construction projects, including aluminum smelters, copper mines, oil and gas shutdowns, readymix batching plants, cement manufacturing factories, and high-profile mall management initiatives, such as the Doha Festival City under the Al Futtaim brand. This breadth of experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of complex supply chain dynamics and project management on an international scale.

Head of R&D
Dr. L. John Berchmans is a highly esteemed scientist and leader, renowned for his significant contributions to electrochemistry and materials engineering. He earned his Master of Engineering (M.E.) in Metallurgy and Materials Science from the Regional Engineering College (REC) Trichy, graduating with Distinction and securing the University First Rank. He furthered his academic achievements with a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Bharathidasan University, Trichy.
As the Chief Scientist and former Head of Department at CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CSIR-CECRI) in Karaikudi, Dr. Berchmans has been instrumental in advancing research and development in electropyrometallurgy and electroplating. In his current role as Consultant and Project Coordinator for the Electropyrometallurgy and Electroplating Division, he continues to spearhead innovative projects, reflecting his deep expertise and commitment to advancing electrochemical technologies.
